Rainbow Smelt este o specie comuna de minnow vizata de rapitorii din apele nordice precum walleye, somon, pastrav si bass cu gura mica. Se gaseste mai ales in lacurile din nord si in si in jurul Marilor Lacuri. Naluca jerkbait ce imita acest peste are un sistem de lestare ce isi schimba pozitia la lansare, asigura starea de suspending si sunetul specific de ciocnire intre bilele lest.
